Long live the Cheap Airticket!

Long live the Cheap Airticket, and so say all of us! Us being those on a budget of course! Oil prices have skyrocketed, airlines have gone under, and the global recession has a firm grip on the world economy. Never before has there been so much demand for cheap air travel, but is it available? Surely with so much less competition than previous, the airlines are not under the same pressure to compete by lowing fares? Not really! Planes with empty seats are not good news for airlines and they'd sooner give the seat away then see it empty. With less people travelling, the more seats there are up for grabs. New airlines will emerge as soon as the world economies start to pick up, and those that have weathered the storm so to speak will want to be in fine shape to compete. Airlines also know that people have very long memories and if they treat their customers well now, they are less likely to lose them in the future. Long haul flight with big carriers make most of their money with the seats at the front of the aircraft, that is business and first class, and it is these men and women who they want to keep happy during these tough times. The budget airlines have never had it so good because the demand for cheap air travel is so great now some are even expanding their fleets.
