Will Stomach Exercise Equipment Lose Stomach Fat? This is the misconception about losing that jelly belly. Stomach exercises build and tone stomach muscles. Muscle is not fat, for reducing fat we have to eat less (or eat more of the right foods), and get more aerobic exercise. It's certainly not rocket science. A body builder is not necessarily fit, but he will be strong. There's a difference. Some 'underweight' muscle wannabes actually do what is called bulking up (eating to gain weight), prior to starting a bodybuilding exercise workout program, but if they get too much fat around the gut, all the bench exercises and ab crunches in the world will not reduce this stomach fat. So for that perfect stomach, you need to do aerobic exercises in order to reduce the fat around that area, coupled with some good stomach workouts. Then, and only then, will you get the results you so desire.
