Christmas is an important time for UK kids; they have heard the phenomenal tales of St. Nicholas and the reindeers and the special day of the 25th. In the build up, nursery and school children are on toy sites and in catalogues searching high and low for the latest toy for them to write at the top of their Christmas list. At school and pre school the number one topic is what board game they will be asking Mr and Mrs Claus and if he will give them even more video games than their friends. Picking the best girls toys can be easy with the range of life-like baby dolls.

Each Christmas time the market research companies and toy stores start making their predictions about what action figure will become the number one biggest seller for that Xmas period. In past years the British Isles have observed the Playstation 3 and the Transformers coming in at the top.

One of the predicted highest selling games is from the sensational Ben 10 toy range. Ben 10 is a cartoon from the United States and is about a boy called Ben who sees a fantastically strange alien wrist watch device that holds itself onto Ben's wrist and provides him with eye-opening special powers. With his extra ordinary powers, Ben helps others when they get into danger as well as get into some fun mischief with his little cousin Gwen. With the super success of the kids tv show, a large range of fantastic kids toys have been boxed up, these comprise of figures and fancy dress costumes.

Another best seller this Xmas will be children's board games, one of the most likeable being Monopoly. Loosely based on the economic idea of a company owning everything in their market, Monopoly is a fascinating family friendly board game that is superbly popular that 750 million users have played the board game. In its outstanding 100 year lifespan, the family board game has seen it move into an online format, video game format and even an Apple iPhone game.

While forecasting are informative the real actual unit sales will tell us what action figure was the biggest seller this Christmas period.
